ALEXANDRIA, Va.—-July 26, 2006–AvalonBay Communities, Inc. reported today that Net Income Available to Common Stockholders for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 was $67,794,000. This resulted in Earnings per Share - diluted of $0.90 for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, compared to $0.74 for the comparable period of 2005, a per share increase of 21.6%.
